“Racist” Kanye West Did Not Testify in the Case

Kanye West He faces renewed scrutiny after missing a scheduled deposition in a lawsuit filed by a former employee who accuses the rapper and fashion mogul of discriminatory practices.

Legal case initiated by Benjamin Deshon Provo, previously worked as security for West’s Yeezy brand and Donda Academy revolve around allegations of racial bias and inappropriate workplace actions.

West was expected to testify in response to the lawsuit last week but was not at the hearing, according to court records.

Provo’s legal team reportedly notified West about the deposition earlier this month, but there has been no rescheduling or communication from West yet.

Court documents emphasize the urgency of the situation, saying, “It is critical that Provo’s attorney obtain this deposition in a timely manner to identify all pertinent, relevant facts in this case to enable Provo to fully prosecute his allegations and prepare for trial.”

Now, Provo’s attorneys are seeking an order to bring the Grammy-winning artist to court for questioning, and a hearing is scheduled for Feb. 11 in Los Angeles to address the matter.

Provo’s legal team also filed a separate sanctions request, seeking $1,760 in damages for what they described as time lost due to West’s failure to attend the deposition.

Provo first filed the lawsuit in April, alleging that West “frequently yelled at and berated black employees” at their company and also fired Provo for refusing to cut his dreadlocks; The former guard claimed that this behavior was discriminatory.

West’s legal team had previously attempted to dismiss the case, arguing that their client’s actions during Provo’s employment were “justified.”

“Kanye and members of his management team subjected Provo and other Black employees to less preferential treatment than their white counterparts,” Provo’s attorney said. “Kanye, in particular, frequently yelled and berated black employees, while never raising his voice toward white staff.”

Recent reports indicate that West is currently unrepresented in the case, further complicating his legal defense.
