Trump announces that Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo will not return to the White House

President-elect Donald Trump He announced in a public social media post on Saturday that he would not invite two members of his former administration to the White House.

The post mentioned Nikki Haley, who served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Republicans were seen as two strong candidates for Trump’s election campaign new Cabinet.

“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the Trump Administration as it is currently in the making,” the president-elect posted on Truth Social early Saturday evening.

Despite the harsh nature of the announcement, Trump added that he enjoyed working with them.

“I have enjoyed and appreciated working with them before, and I would like to thank them for their service to our country,” he continued. “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Haley, who ran against Trump in the Republican primaries earlier this year, has both publicly supported and criticized the president-elect in the past. Last week, he wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal in support of his presidential campaign.

“I disagree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time,” Haley wrote. “But most of the time I agree with her, and I almost always disagree with Ms. Harris, making this an easy decision.”

While Pompeo is not one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, he has also expressed support for the president-elect in the past. One open letter With more than 400 signatories, including Gold Star families and national security officials, Pompeo endorsed Trump’s candidacy for president.

The letter, written in October, said, “We are closer than ever from a peaceful world under President Trump to a third world war under the Biden-Harris Administration.” “With multiple wars escalating around the world, an open border allowing terrorists to pour into the American homeland, and malevolent actors like China operating unabated, U.S. national security has been deeply harmed by the failed policies of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.”
