Congratulations are in order for Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang, who won the National League Platinum Glove Award on Friday night.

Turang won the Gold Glove Award and subsequently beat out all other Gold Glove winners for the platinum award. This is the first Platinum Glove Award of his career. He is the first in Brewers team history to win the Platinum Glove.

Turang said of the keys to his defense: “The first step is really important. The distance you cover. How many routine plays you play compared to other players. Things like that are important.” After being selected as Golden Glover. “But the main thing is to win. If I can help my team win, I will do it in any way possible. That’s what really matters.”

Not only was Turang excellent defensively, but he also helped the Brewers in the field and on the bases. The 24-year-old California native hit .254 with seven homers and 50 stolen bases.
