First MMA Fighter KOs Opponent with Striking Wheel Kick

A flyweight fighter absolutely stole the show in his first promotional event on an action-packed LFA 196 card in Phoenix, AZ.

Well established as one of the United States’ top proving grounds for up-and-coming fighters, Legacy Fighting Alliance held one of its final events of the year on Friday with LFA 196 taking place at the Arizona Finance Theater.

The card was largely a showcase for fighters competing in MMA’s lightweight classes, and one of the night’s main card bouts was a flyweight bout between Uzbekistan’s Furkatbek Yokubov and Brazil’s Falvio de Queiroz.

Both men entered the night on winning streaks and were making their LFA debuts, but it was Yokubov who had the most impressive moment of the night, knocking out the Brazilian with a wheel kick in the second round.

De Queiroz may have already been finished by the time Yokubov’s shot made contact with his head, but “Iron Man” continued with punches that caused the referee to quickly run over and put an end to the fight.

Yokubov is currently on a four-fight winning streak in which he has finished every opponent he has faced, and three outings prior to his LFA debut have seen the 30-year-old take care of things impressively in the first round.

The knockout-win came on the heels of stoppage victories over JaCobi Jones and Iler Bakhtiya Uulu, and the night ended with Ednilson Santos outpointing UFC veteran Kamuela Kirk in the co-main event before Kasey Tanner earned a unanimous decision over Micaias Ureña to headline the card . fight.
