IDABEL, Okla. (KXII) – An Idabel man was sentenced Friday to more than 27 years in federal prison for murder and firearms charges.

Federal prosecutors stated: September 2023, Zachary Capps, 29, admitted to fatally shooting a man in the head with a handgun on the evening of November 15, 2022.

Capps was sentenced to 210 months in prison in Indian Country for second-degree murder and an additional 120 months for using a firearm during a violent crime.

He will not be eligible for parole.
