The Charles Henderson Trojans and Lady Trojans opened the 2024-2025 basketball season Thursday night at Pike Road.

The men’s team had a thrilling 55-53 victory over the Patriots. Leading 11-7 in the first quarter, Pike Road closed the first half ahead 23-18. While Pike Road was leading 38-32 in the fourth quarter, the Trojans defeated Pike 23-15 in the final period.

With just four seconds remaining, CHHS took a 54-53 lead when Damien Williams was sent to the foul line. Williams made 1 of 2 free throws to give CHHS a 55-53 lead, and Pike Road failed to make a field goal in time to secure the Trojans’ victory.

The Lady Trojans lost 56-30 to Pike Road. Reaghan Worley led the Lady Trojans with 11 points, while Harmony Hubbard and Rylan Mitchell scored eight points each.

The junior varsity Trojans also earned a 43-26 victory over Pike Road on Thursday.

Charles Henderson will be back in action on Nov. 15 against Class 7A Dothan.
