A Florida woman has been charged with second-degree murder after her roommate was last seen on Christmas Day two years ago.

According to a expression Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of tampering with physical evidence and one count of grand larceny in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, the Orlando Police Department said on Facebook.

Medina-Pacheco, 42, was reported missing on December 27, 2022. Victoria-Gonzalez, also 42, contacted police and said she hadn’t seen her roommate since Dec. 25, 2022, but as authorities continued to investigate, “detectives” discovered numerous inconsistencies in Victoria-Gonzalez’s version of events, according to OPD.

The police statement continued: “A search warrant was executed at their home and significant evidence was seized indicating that a violent incident had occurred there.”

Multiple local, state and federal law enforcement agencies were able to locate Victoria-Gonzalez while she was living in Hartford, Connecticut, and after conducting an additional interview with her, police were able to arrest and charge Victoria-Gonzalez.

One video Victoria-Gonzalez, who was released by OPD, can be seen wearing a red dress and handcuffs as she is taken to the elevator by law enforcement.

According to police, Medina-Pacheco’s body has not been found.

Per local media outlet NBC ConnecticutMedina-Pacheco traveled to Orlando from her home in the Dominican Republic for an extended vacation in October 2022 and was living with an acquaintance from home, authorities said.
