PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A former city treasurer in Uniontown has been found guilty of stealing more than $100,000 in taxpayer funds.

A jury in Fayette County found Antoinette Hodge guilty of stealing $106,000.

Hodge was accused of stealing money collected by the treasurer’s office Between 2020 and 2021.

Prosecutors said Hodge spent the money on the lottery and various personal expenses.

So was Hodge. He was accused of stealing $112,000 from a religious association.

The charges stem from his time as president of the Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association, which was affiliated with 27 Baptist churches in Fayette, Westmoreland and Allegheny counties.

Members became suspicious when they learned that bills and invoices were not paid. They discovered that the organization was significantly indebted to creditors and that many services were in danger of being cut.

His general checking account and money market account were secretly depleted, police said.
