Minot Pride of Dakota Showcase features approximately 80 local vendors

MINOT, ND (KMOT) – Nearly 80 local businesses across the state are taking pride in their products at the Dakota Pride display in Minot.

At Pride of Dakota, you can find gourmet food, artwork, clothing, and unique items among other things, all produced in the Peace Garden State.

A dealer from Surrey sells all things jewelery and jewelry.

Terra Knipp and her sister, Holly, own A Sister Thing Boutique, which was founded in memory of their sister and mother, who passed away several years ago.

“These are our ideas. We put everything together and it comes from North Dakota,” Knipp said.

This is their fourth year at the showcase.

A longtime retailer of authentic skin products from West Africa is celebrating 17 years as a Pride of the Dakota retailer.

“We go to Ghana, West Africa, we import. Then we package it, we give meaning to things. “We make products with our raw materials,” said Corey Schultz, owner of Legends of Africa.

When it comes to local delicacies, bread dessert seems to be at the top of the lists. Daarthe’s Bread Pudding and Debbie Deaver’s products are available all over the state and even ship to nearly every direction in the country.

“Anyone who wants to try something should never think that you can’t succeed. Norsk Hostest is based on my mother’s quote ‘You’ll never know until you try!’ I remember you saying. Then try!” said Deaver.

The pride of these vendors can be seen throughout the room.

“I am proud of the Pride of Dakota. I am very proud of the Department of Agriculture,” Deaver said.

“It’s something we’re very proud of because we make it, we produce it, we put it together,” Knipp said.

This marks the 27th year of the Pride of the Dakota show.

You can catch the vendors again on Saturday, October 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The state capital will host a holiday showcase of Pride of Dakota products Dec. 6-7 at the Bismarck Events Center.
