Are you ready for Route 30’s traffic nightmare this weekend? Closing is coming for sinkhole repair

Attention drivers: This weekend Crews will repair a sinkhole on Route 30 in West Manchester Township, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The work was originally planned to take place last weekend, but that plan was changed due to concerns that the work could continue until November 5, Election Day.

The pothole is along the westbound shoulder of Route 30, near the on-ramp to Route 74, the release states.

The statement states that PennDOT plans to close westbound Route 30 in the sinkhole area beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. The road is expected to reopen at 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, but PennDOT warns the work could take longer.

The statement states that if the weather is bad, the work will be carried out the following weekend.

Travelers may experience traffic congestion and delays. The statement stated that drivers should avoid the area if possible.

The work is being done as part of an $8.7 million pavement patching project on Route 30 between Route 74 and Interstate 83. The contractor is JVI Group Inc. of York Springs, the statement said. It is stated that .

How to get around the Route 30 closure?

Traffic will be closed while crews repair the pothole.

Motorists heading west on Route 30 should turn right on Roosevelt Boulevard and proceed to Route 238 (Church Road).

Drivers should turn left onto Church Road and head west onto Route 74. They can then turn left again on Route 74 to return to Route 30.
