Vikrant Massey, who will soon star in The Sabarmati Report, announced that he received threats for being a part of this movie. On Wednesday (November 6), Vikrant and the team of The Sabarmati Report, Ridhi Dogra, Raashii Khanna and producer Ekta Kapoor launched the trailer of the film at an event in Mumbai.

During the press conference, Vikrant admitted that working on this film was challenging for him and he also received threats through his DMs (direct messages), WhatsApp and SMS. The actor said: “Aap mera phone hack kar rahe hai kya (laughs). Aap just DMs dekhe. I have been receiving threats for a while now. This is something that I am dealing with without attracting attention and we are collectively dealing with it as a team. We are dealing with it.” However, every member of the team present at the launch claimed that their film was based solely on ‘pure facts’.

“We are artists and we tell stories. This movie is completely based on facts. Unfortunately, you haven’t watched the movie, so you shouldn’t have a preconceived notion that the movie talks about only one aspect,” Vikrant said when asked if the movie did not touch upon the Godhra riots, which were the horrific consequences of the Godhra burning: the train incident.
