Ground search follows new lead in case of missing Manitoulin Island woman

The police department searching for a missing Manitoulin Island woman says an extensive ground search will be conducted on M’Chigeeng First Nation on Wednesday, just days after a new lead was shared with police.

A significant number of officers will be searching for the woman in downtown M’Chigeeng First Nation on Wednesday, UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service said in a press release.

“The public can expect a greater police presence than usual and the public is asked to please avoid areas where police are conducting searches,” the statement said.
