Agra: A special Pocso court in Mathura sentenced a man to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 on the 25-year-old convict, half of which was to be paid to the child’s family.
According to the information obtained, the child’s mother worked as a maid in a house. On February 15, 2021, he took his son with him because his father also went to work.
While the woman was busy with her work, her son came crying and said that the landlord’s son, Sonu Sharma, was ‘misbehaving’ with him. The woman then returned home with her child.
On February 17, when the child went to relieve himself, he started bleeding, following which the father took the child to the police station and lodged an FIR under sections 377 (unnatural offences) of the IPC, 506 (criminal threat) and sections of the Pocso Act. .
Special public prosecutor Ramveer Singh Yadav said, “Five witnesses testified in the court. The medical examination report and the child’s statement before the magistrate played an important role in securing the conviction of the accused. While passing the verdict, the court observed that the convict tolerated the crime.” “It is an inhumane act and there is no room for mercy.”
The convict has been in prison since his arrest.
