ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WVUE) – St. Detectives with the Tammany County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting deaths of a man and woman found at a home in the Slidell area on Thursday, Oct. 24.

Authorities say the incident appears to be a domestic incident.

Around 12:15 p.m., deputies responded to a concerned family member’s request for a welfare check at a residence on William Drive in the Bel Aire Subdivision near Slidell. Upon entering the home, deputies found a deceased man and woman, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The bodies were returned to St. Petersburg for identification and confirmation of the official cause of death. He was turned over to the Tammany County Coroner’s Office.

The sheriff’s office says there is no ongoing threat to the public.
