STRATHCONA, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A man is dead following a house fire in Strathcona, Roseau County, on Monday.

According to the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office, officers were dispatched to the home around 6:31 p.m. for reports of fire and smoke damage inside the home. Only one victim was located and his body was taken to the Northern University Forensic Medicine Department for autopsy. The name has not been revealed yet.

The sheriff says there is no threat to the public. Both Lifecare Medical Center Ambulance and Greenbush Fire Department responded to the scene along with the Sheriff’s Office.

The case is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
