HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A 39-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed multiple times Monday evening, authorities said.

The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. on South Hotel Street near Union Mall in Downtown Honolulu.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said the man had “extensive” wounds to his upper body.

Medical teams intervened in the injured person and took him to the hospital in serious condition.

So far, there has been no word on a possible suspect or what led up to the incident.
