ACC summons 23 Islami Bank officials over misappropriation of loans of three Ctg companies

ACC also summoned the three companies in question: Islami Bank’s Chaktain branch customer Murad Enterprise, Jubilee Road branch customer United Super Traders, Khatunganj branch customer Century Food Products.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned 23 officials of Islami Bank Bangladesh for alleged misappropriation of loans by three Chattogram-based companies from multiple branches of the bank.

Moreover, ACC also summoned the three companies in question: Murad Enterprise, customer of Islami Bank’s Chaktain branch, United Super Traders, customer of Jubilee Road branch, Century Food Products, customer of Khatunganj branch.

An ACC letter sent to the managing director of Islami Bank recently stated that they have been asked to submit their national identity cards and passport size photographs to the institution.

The summoned people were also asked to come to the ACC headquarters within the specified time and submit a written statement with information about the loans provided.

Among the Islami Bank officials summoned were Additional General Managers Kaysar Ali and Omar Faruk Khan; Deputy Director Generals Taher Ahmed Chowdhury, AAM Habibur Rahman, Hasne Alam, Abdul Jabbar, Siddiqur Rahman, Kazi Md Rezaul Karim, Miftah Uddin, AFM Kamaluddin, Mustafizur Rahman Siddiqui, JQM Habibullah and others.

According to ACC documents, loans worth over Tk 3,000 billion were given to the three companies in question.
