How can Michigan voters find their polling place?

Tuesday, November 5, 2024 is Election Day. Polling stations open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

How can you find your polling place?

Election inspectors will be on hand at every polling place on Election Day to assist voters and conduct elections.

It’s important to research your local polling place on Election Day in case it hasn’t been moved to a different location.

Voters should remember to check their registration status to ensure it is up to date before heading to the polls.

Do you need to register to vote?

Voters must register to vote in person at their clerk’s office or satellite office and submit proof of residence within 14 days of the election.

If you register to vote in person, you will be asked for photo identification. No? You can sign an affidavit and then register to vote.

Acceptable forms of photo ID include:

  • Driver’s license or state identification card issued by Michigan or another state

  • Federal, state, county, or local government-issued photo identification

  • US passport

  • Military photo ID card

  • Student ID card with photo from an educational institution

  • Tribal photo ID card

  • Local or county-issued government ID

  • Concealed Pistol license

Voters who line up by 8 p.m. on election day have the right to register to vote in person at their local clerk’s office.
