in 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, toyota explained GR86 The Rally Heritage Concept is an exciting tribute to iconic rally heritage. Designed as a modern reimagining of the legendary Celica GT-Four rally cars of the 1990s, this concept combines classic rally spirit with the latest advances in Toyota’s performance engineering.

Based on the 2024 GR86 Performance Package, the GR86 Rally Legacy Concept integrates the 3-cylinder turbocharged GR-FOUR AWD system borrowed from the GR Corolla. This powertrain conversion required extensive changes to the GR86’s chassis and suspension. A custom subframe and engine mounts were added to accommodate the G16E-GTS engine, as well as custom front suspension components and custom coilover shock absorbers. The rear axle setup includes the GR Corolla’s differential, providing balanced power distribution and seamless electronic functionality.

Visually, the GR86 Rally Legacy Concept features a Halo White exterior accented by Toyota Gazoo Racing’s red and green color palette, large red rally fenders and a Celica GT-Four-inspired spoiler. The car’s interior features racing seats, a red six-point seat belt and an all-white painted roll cage, adding to the rally-ready feel.

“This concept is a fantasy brought to life for GR and Toyota Rally fans,” said Mike Tripp, Toyota Vice President of Marketing. “It’s a nod to our rally heritage and a celebration of our motorsport future.”

The GR86 Rally Legacy Concept with 300 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque will be on display for spectators to examine in person at Toyota’s booth in the Central Hall from November 5 to 8.
