FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr made a sound Following Vice President Harris’ announcement, streaming has been suspended on X, formerly known as Twitter SNL appearance. According to Carr, the senior Republican on the commission appointed by former President Donald Trump, Harris’ appearance on the show was “a clear and obvious effort to evade the FCC’s Equal Time rule.”

“The purpose of the rule is precisely to avoid this type of biased and partisan behavior – a licensed broadcaster using public broadcasts to exert influence over a candidate on the eve of an election,” he explained. “Unless the publisher offers Equal Time to other eligible campaigns.”

“A few weeks ago, SNL’s Lorne Michaels said: I wouldn’t Carr wrote in a follow-up tweet that we could not bring in either candidate due to election and equal time laws.

“NBC has now filed a notice acknowledging that they provided the Democratic Party candidate with free airtime last night under the FCC’s Equal Time rule,” he added.

In another round of tweets, Carr accused NBC of orchestrating Harris’ plan. SNL appearing “just a few hours before the election” to deny all other candidates a week of procedural rights. This is contrary to the claim FCC’s seven-day rule this “gives eligible candidates one week to request their Equal Time from the broadcast station.”

In Saturday’s episode SNLKamala Harris made her debut, joining comedian Maya Rudolph, who is known for impersonating the vice president in a cold open skit. In the scene, Harris appears on the opposite side of the mirror from Rudolph, who plays him.

“I’m here to remind you, you get this, because you can do something your opponent can’t — you can open doors,” Harris told Rudolph, in what appeared to be a subtle jab at Trump. Earlier in the week he was apparently struggling to hold the handle of a garbage truck door.

Harris’ SNL It comes two weeks after the show’s executive producer Lorne Michaels said neither presidential candidate would appear on the popular sketch comedy show.

“Due to election laws and equal term provisions, you cannot nominate real persons who are candidates.” said Hollywood Reporter. “You can’t have the major candidates without having all the candidates, and there are so many minor candidates in three states that are just on the ballot, and it gets really complicated.”

Among Carr’s allegations against Harris SNL FCC spokesman’s appearance said Top The commission “made no findings regarding (political) programming rules and we have not received any complaints from interested parties.”
