Officials in several counties across Pennsylvania continue to investigate potentially fraudulent voter registration applications as Trump has made some misleading or false claims about the incident.

Authorities in Lancaster, Berks, Monroe and York counties are investigating thousands of voter registration applications they consider to be potentially fraudulent, according to various officials across the state. During ongoing investigations, some applications were confirmed to be fake, while others were determined to be legitimate, according to updates.

Still, Trump said last week that Lancaster County was “caught by 2,600 votes.”

“From what I understand, I don’t know what happened on the last day, but they found 2,600 ballots in Lancaster, all cast by the same hand,” Trump said in Pennsylvania on Sunday. .

However, according to the Pennsylvania attorney general, Trump’s characterization is not accurate. The state’s attorney general, Michelle Henry, said last week that “the investigations involve voter registration forms, not ballots.”

On Monday, Lancaster County officials also updated that more than half of the nearly 2,500 applications under investigation have been confirmed as valid. According to Lancaster County Commissioner Ray D’Agostino, 57% of applications have been verified, 17% have been determined to be fraudulent, and 26% are still under investigation and are either incomplete or unverified.

D’Agostino emphasized that the investigation into the Prosecutor’s Office is still ongoing. “We take this very seriously,” he said.

Officials in York County said last week that their investigation of a batch of 3,087 applications found that 47% were “legitimately verified” and approved, 29% were incomplete and pending, and 24% were rejected and the investigation is ongoing. Prosecutor.

Election officials emphasized that this alleged fraud was contained and stopped and said this example demonstrated the effectiveness of the system. Henry said the fraud attempts were “defeated.”
