CLARE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — A Farwell pastor could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted of a sex crime against a minor.

According to the Clare County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation began on March 5, 2024, into the crimes Harold Cole Jr. allegedly committed against a young male.

“The victim, who lives out of state, reported the incident to authorities at his place of residence,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. he said.

Cole is the pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Farwell.

Cole was arraigned in 80th District Court on a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The sheriff’s office said the charge “involves force or duress or sexual contact with a victim under the age of 13.” The charge carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Cole was released on $20,000 or 10% bail and is currently wearing a GPS tether.
