(WALA) – We are monitoring Tropical Depression Eighteen in the Caribbean. As of now, this system is still poorly organized, making it difficult for models to pinpoint a center. In the coming days it will become better organized, move north towards the Gulf and take the name Rafael. What will happen when it enters the Gulf becomes much more uncertain.

What we do know is that it will be in the Gulf midweek. Surfing will also be rough all week long with a high risk of rip currents. As the system approaches, the chance of rain will increase towards the end of the week. He will also encounter hostile conditions at higher levels that will weaken him. There are many question marks beyond this, so stay tuned!

Today, the weather is expected to be very cloudy with some light showers. Highs will be in the low 80s.

We expect similar conditions to occur next week and the chance of precipitation to increase later in the week.
