Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (November 4) said that Bangladesh has always stood by the oppressed and oppressed Palestinian people.

During a meeting at the Secretariat, Palestinian Ambassador Yusef SY told Ramadan, “Bangladesh has always supported their (Palestinians’) rightful demands. We stand for the independence and sovereignty of Palestine.” he said.

The advisor told the ambassador during the meeting, “Palestine is a tested friend of Bangladesh. Our support for them will continue forever.” he said.

They also discussed various issues of mutual interest, including following the legal process in issuing visas to Palestinian students, facilitating visa procedures, and global support for the State of Palestine.

Speaking at the event, the Palestinian ambassador said, “Palestinian students have been visiting Bangladesh for higher education since 1974. Currently, 207 Palestinian students are studying on scholarships in 12 reputable universities of Bangladesh.” he said.

“We want more Palestinian students to study in Bangladesh. But this should be done through the embassy, ​​following proper rules and procedures.” he said.

Advisor Jahangir assured the ambassador of full cooperation in this regard.
