PHOENIX (AZ Family) — A man was seriously injured following a stabbing in downtown Phoenix Sunday night.

Phoenix Police responded to the incident at close range. 16th Street and Indian School Road and found a man stabbed. It is not known exactly when the stabbing took place.

Police said at the scene that the man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police officers remained at the scene early Monday morning while the search for the suspect continued.

Eastbound Indian School Road is closed from 16th Street to State Route 51 while the investigation continues.
