AUSTIN, Nev. (KOLO) – A driver died following an Oct. 17 crash on US 50 just west of Austin in central Nevada, Nevada State Police said Sunday.

A passenger in the Hyundai Santa Fe suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

On Oct. 17, around 3:45 p.m., the Hyundai was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50 when it crossed the right side of the highway, struck a concrete curb and went down a steep embankment, NSP said. It overturned and came to rest in a stream bed.

The driver and passenger were taken to hospital and treated. NSP said the driver died a few days later. The driver’s name is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
