PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – Firefighters in Pueblo rescued two dogs inside while responding to an apartment fire.

Just after 1 p.m. Sunday, the Pueblo Fire Department said they responded to a structure fire at the Minnequa Shores apartments. When they arrived they said they found a small fire in one of the apartments.

They said that while they were trying to extinguish the fire and searching the area, they found two dogs inside and these dogs were removed from the scene while the first responders were working.

The fire that broke out in the small kitchen was quickly extinguished with minimal damage to the apartment. According to firefighters, no one was injured.

Shortly after, the dogs were returned to their owners.
