ROCHESTER, NY — A New York State Police car crashed into another car and then into a tree during a chase on the city’s southwest side Sunday.

State Police said the trooper was chasing a car with stolen plates on Thurston Road when he crashed into a car heading toward Chili Boulevard. Due to the impact, the police vehicle crashed into a tree. A third car was also involved in the accident.

The car chased by the police fled the scene. The soldier and a person in the second vehicle were taken to the hospital. There were no injuries in the third vehicle. While the soldier was slightly injured, it was learned that the person in the second vehicle complained of pain.
