Mental health stalemate continues in Jefferson County; Highway 30 is closed

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities are trying to arrest a man after responding to a mental health issue in Jefferson County Friday morning.

Highway 30 was closed as of 9 a.m. Friday due to an apparent dispute between a man and authorities near House Springs.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said it was trying to “make a felony arrest for a man who stopped his car on Highway 30 near Executive Parkway.”

Local traffic on eastbound Highway 30 is being diverted to Local Hillsboro Road. Motorists can then continue to Dulin Creek Road, Hillsboro House Springs Road, or continue northbound to Highway 21 to avoid the closure.

Westbound Traffic is being diverted at Scottsdale Road and directed to the eastbound lanes. Drivers can also use the Dulin Creek, Hillsboro House Springs or Highway 21 routes to bypass the closures.

Authorities are also investigating the driver in the stolen vehicle A levee broke into the water in Jefferson County Friday morning. There were two people inside the car, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. This is an incident unrelated to the stalemate in Jefferson County.
