Arne Slot’s side avoided their second home defeat of the season by beating Brighton 2-1.

Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah were enough for a valuable three points on a day when last year’s one-two was a losing match.

Despite a late rally, City were unable to turn their game around at Bournemouth, losing 2–1; Arsenal, on the other hand, had previously put on a lax display to fall behind 1-0 at Newcastle.

Following Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 win over 10-man West Ham, Arsenal find themselves fourth in the table and are now Sky Bet’s third favourites.

City are ahead of Liverpool at 7/4 at 6/4, while Arsenal are ahead at 100/30.
