Outlaw looks like he got justice after renting a neon green Cybertruck from car-sharing app Turo He ends up chasing a porch pirate, forcing them off the road and crashing into a nearby tree.

Seconds later, the Cybertruck catches up to the accused porch pirate’s black sedan, preventing him from making a left turn on the road and forcing him to crash into a nearby tree. The Cybertruck then crashes into the back of the hijacker’s vehicle on the porch — or, as Phelps puts it, making a “sandwich with a thief’s car and a tree.”

A separate angle recorded by what appears to be the Cybertruck tenant’s smart doorbell shows the accused thief running towards his car. Seconds later, the green Cybertruck is seen speeding by in the distance. The clip ends with an ominous crunching sound as the black car drives towards the tree.

“We’re about to find out how good T(uro)’s insurance is,” Phelps wrote in his post. “I hope everything goes well, but let’s just have one car for a little while.”

It’s still unclear what exactly was in the stolen package that warranted a reckless high-speed chase and destruction of private property.

“Apparently their neighborhood has been experiencing burglary problems all week,” Phelps wrote. follow up comment.

Phelps also explained that “this is an $800 rental from Friday to Monday.”

Vigilante justice aside, Phelps (and likely the driver of his Cybertruck) will have a mountain of paperwork ahead of him. It’s unclear whether insurance will cover the damage.

Worse still, Tesla’s brutal pickup truck is already almost impossible to repair. It’s likely the truck won’t be drivable for a long time unless the automaker decides to give Phelps a completely new vehicle.

It could also be argued that the Cybertruck driver endangered the alleged thief’s life, which could greatly complicate matters.
