A Jubo Dal leader was killed when a speedboat rammed into a trawler in Munshiganj Sadar area of ​​Meghna river last night (November 1).

Munshiganj police chief Shamsul Alam Sarkar said four more people were injured in the incident.

The incident took place around 10 pm when a speedboat coming from Dhaka crashed into a trawler in Jajira area of ​​Adhara division of Munshiganj.

The incident left 35-year-old Shanto Ahmed, joint convenor of Jubo Dal’s Munshiganj Sadar unit, seriously injured. He was first taken to Munshiganj General Hospital for first aid and then to a private hospital in Dhaka, where he breathed his last around 2.30 am today (November 2).

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased claimed that the incident was a pre-planned murder.

Munshiganj SP Shamsul Alam Sarkar said that they are looking into the allegation.
