The man, in his 80s, was operating his ride-on mower at a property in the Currumbin Valley when it was reported to have rolled over on Friday afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man suffered serious and potentially life-threatening head injuries.

The man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition on Saturday afternoon, a Queensland Health spokesperson told SkyNews.com.au.
