Lighter vessels plying all 34 sea lanes in the country from Chattogram port will operate in accordance with the serial token provided by the newly formed regulator Bangladesh Water Transport Coordination Cell (BWTCC) from November 4.

The decision came at a meeting of three shipowners’ associations (Chittagong Inland Ship Owners Association, Bangladesh Cargo Ship Owners Association, Coastal Ship Owners Association) at a hotel in the port city on Friday (November 1).
