New York State Police and New York Park Police are working to recover the bodies of a mother and her two children who crossed over to the American side of Niagara Falls on Monday night, which investigators described as “intentional.”

Police announced that they intervened in the incident that took place on Goat Island around 21:00. According to investigators, 33-year-old Chianti Means, 9-year-old Roman Rossman and 5-month-old Mecca Means ran over the safety railing. Waterfalls on Luna Island.

New York State Trooper James O’Callaghan said the family was very cooperative, allowing police to expedite the investigation.
