SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) – The man convicted of attempting to stab to death a liquor store employee in Shawnee will spend the next two decades behind bars.

Johnson County, Kansas, District Attorney’s Office On Wednesday, October 30, it was announced that 35-year-old Amanjit Singh was sentenced to 23 years and 9 months in prison for attempted first-degree murder.

On September 12, court documents showed Singh pleaded guilty to the charge. He was arrested on June 9, 2023, in connection with the attempted murder of a liquor store employee.

Court records show Singh found Jasbir Kaur at Nieman and 67th St. in Shawnee. He noted that he stabbed him multiple times while working at a nearby liquor store.

No further information had been released as of Wednesday.
