Rosas, 33, was found dead by a staff member at a resort in Water Mill, New York, on Monday, October 28, the Suffolk County Police Department previously said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

In their statement, authorities stated that police responded to the Shou Sugi Ban House in the afternoon and found signs on Rosas’ body indicating that he was a “victim of violence.”

Rosas was a native of Tajikistan, according to the local weekly East Hampton Star.

Suffolk County police said Gannon died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but have not yet released how Rosas died or a motive behind the killing.
