ST. THOMAS — VI Police Department responded to St. Louis late Wednesday morning. Confirmed a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the Hospital Area area of ​​St. Thomas.

According to the department, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received multiple notifications via ShotSpotter, VIPD’s gunshot detection system, which recorded five alarms from the perimeter.

Following these warnings, several witnesses called 911 to report a gunshot victim. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived at the scene and pronounced the person dead at the scene. VIPD is withholding the identity of the victim until next of kin has been notified.
