McDonald’s reportedly sees decline in customers in Colorado following E. coli outbreak

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – McDonald’s has reportedly seen a huge decline in customers in Colorado.

This follows an E. coli outbreak linked to chopped onions in quarter-pounders.

Visits to McDonald’s were down 10 percent nationally last week and 33 percent in Colorado, according to a company that tracks foot traffic to restaurants and retailers.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s said they have removed all contaminated products related to the outbreak from their supply chain and restaurants.

McDonald’s said they have decided to stop purchasing onions from Taylor Farms’ Colorado Springs location indefinitely.
