Saskatchewan election: Voter turnout nears 53 percent

Elections Saskatchewan says just under 53 per cent of those eligible to vote in the 2024 provincial election did so when it came to advancing polls, election day and personal care facility and home-bound ballots.

After the first preliminary count, 439,771 votes were collected with a total of 810,816 registered voters.

Elections Saskatchewan says a total of 829,884 people are eligible to vote.

A second preliminary count will be held Wednesday and will include mail-in voting.

According to Elections Saskatchewan, 32,476 mail ballots were issued, making the total number 20,417.

The final count will be completed on November 9.

As of Tuesday morning, Sask. According to Elections Saskatchewan, the party received a total of 232,760 votes, while the NDP received 173,285 votes.

The United Party of Saskatchewan came in a distant third place with a total of 17,658 votes.

Voter turnout in 2020 was 52.86 percent and 444,997 votes were counted.

Four years ago there were 841,807 voters; of these, 827,366 were registered to vote.
