Lynn Pierce Ashton

Lynn Pierce Ashton died at home on October 23, 2024.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter Taylor Ashton Vossooghi; and his brother, John Pierce. One of his last wishes was that the obituary be a true and authentic tribute to his life. He wanted his friends to read and smile, and so will we.

Lynn was born on September 29, 1960, in Waynesboro, Virginia, to Dr. He was born to Fredrick Pierce and Mrs. Mary H. Pierce. She grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, but left Florida on a whim in her early twenties because “the humidity made her hair look bad.” Although he didn’t like Florida, he loved his alma mater: University of Central Florida He was often seen wearing his favorite UCF t-shirt, which he lovingly wore even when the football team was losing (a true fan).

Lynn loved traveling, cycling, drinking whiskey, reading, and yelling obscenities at her various computer devices when they didn’t do what she wanted. She was also adept at the one-finger salute, usually aimed at Joe, her husband of 35 years. (He probably deserved it.) Lynn was strikingly intelligent. There was absolutely no problem to which he could not find an answer; Unfortunately, this answer usually came to him at 2 a.m. because his mind never stopped and he couldn’t sleep.

But above all else, Lynn loved. He loved his family with a fierceness never seen before in this galaxy. He loved his friends unconditionally. She was incredibly cherished by her husband of 35 years, Joe, and their daughter, Taylor. He will be sorely missed, every moment of every day, in this life and the next.

And he died of pulmonary fibrosis, as he knows you all are wondering. It was a terrible hand to be dealt in the end, but it wouldn’t have made any difference. He would definitely tell you to quit vaping, though.

Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Harris/Walz campaign.

Arrangements entrusted to Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415, 423 877-3524, Lanefh.com.
