Zooey Deschanel Shares Genius Packing Tip, Sweet Memory From ‘Elf’ Shoot, and More

Zooey Deschanel actually loves packing for a trip, and she has the best and simplest tips for frequent travelers to never stress about it.

“I usually have a bag that’s 90 percent full at all times,” he said Travel + Entertainment in a recent interview. “I pack everything I need in a bag so I don’t have to think about it. I know I’ll always need a pair of glasses, my contact lenses, a pair of sunglasses, a small first aid kit, my makeup, my toiletries, so I better have those in there anyway so ‘What did I forget?’ “I won’t ask.”

She notes that essentially always packing eliminates last-minute fiascos, especially when packing for both of her children.

“After remembering everything for everyone, this means a lot. “So it really helps to be organized and think ahead,” he said.

Window seat or aisle seat?

Window.
Which “Elf” character is best to travel with?
Jovie is probably pretty good at talking.

Which “New Girl” character would be best to travel with?
I think it’s probably because Schmidt is organized. He wore airplane moccasins.
When do you arrive at the airport?
My preference is on time, but I’d rather be early than late. Last year I encountered a situation where I was traveling alone. I was going to Europe. It was a newly built new terminal at LAX and I was sitting in the lounge and missed the announcement. Then it turned out that I took a 15-minute walk and was literally running at full speed with my bag. I rushed to the plane and got there just before closing. This is definitely not my personality. I’ve never missed a flight. So yes, I’d rather wait by the door.
Flying activity?
I love watching movies on the plane.

Her drive to be organized and pack well has created a perfect partnership with iconic purse and purse company Vera Bradley. Known for its signature patterns and prints, Deschanel’s campaign It describes a new era with completely elevated and neutral styles.

“Making these practical bags with lots of pockets that are great for traveling was their challenge,” he said, noting that the updated versions still have all the great features of the original designs.

Besides having the perfect travel bag from Vera Bradley, Deschanel’s other packing tips include sticking to a capsule wardrobe and not bringing anything out of the ordinary.

“I think we all go on trips and come back and say, ‘Why did I bring this? Like, I’ve never worn it once.’ You have an imaginary version of yourself wearing something special that isn’t practical when you’re on vacation, right? “I always say, if it’s not comfortable, don’t wear it.”

She also leaves items that take up valuable space, like super long dresses or multiple pairs of shoes, at home. She recommends bringing a pair of Vans or Superga sneakers that you can wear for style, while also doing a simple gym workout to keep it off. Deschanel also loves ballet flats because they are a packable shoe.

Although she doesn’t have any travel plans for the holidays, Deschanel is excited to spend this season at home. Engaged Mulk Brothers host Jonathan Scott shared his enthusiasm for this time of year.

“I love the holidays. I love decorating, I love baking, I love singing Christmas carols. I love everything,” he told T+L.

This may not come as much of a surprise, given that many people associate Deschanel with the hit 2003 holiday movie “Elf.” (He also has a Christmas album with his band Him and Him Deschanel fondly remembers being featured in one of the most acclaimed Christmas movies of all time, especially working with Will Ferrell in the iconic role of Buddy the Elf.

“I remember being on set and we were doing the ice skating scene and Will was wearing his ice skates and talking to everyone. And I said, ‘This guy doesn’t know he’s famous!’ I said. He’s such a nice guy. “He is a very nice person.”

So where would Buddy and Deschanel’s character Jovie be today? “They live up north and run Santa’s workshop with their giant children,” he said.
