The match, which was planned to be played at Bologna Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, was postponed due to heavy rain and floods in the region and the decision was taken approximately 24 hours before the match.

“It was difficult to manage this moment. We were training on the eve of the match, not knowing whether we would play the next day or not,” Fonseca said at a press conference on Monday. he said.

“We wanted to play and I think we were affected by not playing in this game.”

Milan will instead host league leader Napoli, who continues their unbeaten league run for eight matches. Napoli is the leader with 22 points, four points ahead of Inter, while Milan is in eighth place with 14 points.

The postponement means Theo Hernandez and Tijjani Reijnders will serve their one-match suspensions against Napoli without worrying the Portuguese coach.
