MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – In the three to four months that Minneapolis residents have called the Pearl Apartments on Chicago Avenue home, many told FOX 9 they had yet to receive any mail as of Monday.

“Obviously it’s extremely frustrating not being able to get your mail,” said area resident Jeff Brummett. “Sometimes our bills go overdue because we don’t get them on time.”

According to residents, the USPS is not delivering their mail because residents were told the key to the mailbox was lost.

It’s unclear whether the missing key is actually the culprit, and when reached Monday, USPS was unable to shed any light on the situation.

“If you ask me, I think it’s bullshit,” Katie Henning told FOX 9.

“That was an excuse for three months,” Brummett said.

What’s next?

Meanwhile, citizens had to take matters into their own hands.

“We have to go to the post office every week to get our mail and it’s ridiculous,” Henning said.

“It’s a problem because not everyone has access to transportation,” said area resident Maurice Buckingham. “Some people are disabled, some people don’t drive, some people can’t get to get the mail as easily as others. It’s a bad deal.”
