VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV/Gray News) – Hundreds of ballots were damaged after a ballot box was set on fire in Portland, according to officials.

The fire was started at the C-TRAN Park & ​​Ride at Fisher’s Landing Transit Center.

Authorities said he claimed someone had glued a fire-causing device to the outside of the box. KPTV reported.

Election officials said hundreds of ballots were burned.

Anyone who drops off an absentee ballot after 11 a.m. Saturday should contact the Clark County Elections Office.

This is the second ballot box fire police have responded to in the Portland metro area.
