Montana Western moves to No. 4 in NAIA top 25, Carroll makes season debut

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Montana Western moved up to No. 4 in the NAIA football top 25 on Monday.

The Bulldogs, who were sixth last week, are back in the top five after reaching the record. Defeated Arizona Christian 69-7 last week. Western, which is 6-1 overall with a score of 4-1 in the Frontier Conference, was previously ranked fourth in the poll on September 16.

Joining Western from Frontier in the survey are Southern Oregon, Montana Tech, Carroll and the College of Idaho. SOU and Tech moved up two spots to No. 8 and No. 13, respectively, while Carroll moved from unranked to No. 21 this week. C of I fell to 24th place in the poll.

The Fighting Saints have won six straight games, including last week’s game. 43-29 win – No. 12 CI. This Saturday, Carroll will host #8 Southern Oregon in another important Border Conference matchup.

Tech (6-2 overall) won its last two games by a combined score of 135-0. Orediggers beat Simpson (California) 97-0 and then Defeated Rocky Mountain 38-0.

The NAIA regular season is just three weeks away, and the national playoffs are scheduled to begin on November 23.

In addition to the Carroll-Southern Oregon game, Montana Western visits MSU-Northern, Montana Tech travels to Arizona Christian and College of Idaho plays Eastern Oregon in Frontier action this week.
